I think it comes from your environment, if you are surrounded with people that can't talk without saying bad words here and there, then you are prone to subconsciously follow there lead and pick up their manners.
And I'm saying this from a place of experience, and happily for me I broke free from having foul mouth.
The trick is to think twice before speaking and to replace the slurs with something much more acceptable like shoot, darn and fudge instead of.. you know. And with time and self control you will get there eventually :)
